At the end of 2020, Windfall Films in the UK was commissioned by National Geographic to produce a documentary about LaGuardia Airport and its new Delta Terminal.
La Guardia had a bad reputation for being a rundown airport in NYC for years and required a facelift.
I was hired to shoot/produce along with Selina Tso to produce under Joby Lubman.
All of the red tape was cleared at the very last minute, so I shifted to director of photography while Selina and Joby would take on the brunt of the producing work.
We spent many cold days and nights over a few months making this film. From blizzards to freezing rain. But it was a great experience to film at La Guardia, and we really got a better understanding of how the airport was built as a whole.
Here is a link to an article about the project.
The documentary is available on Amazon, and PBS/NOVA.
When I get a little free time, I’ll add more photos.
